There has been a lot of public scrutiny regarding police use of force. In addition, police have been negatively portrayed in the media which has adversely affected police community relations in several communities. One way in which police may consider reaching out to the communities they serve is through social media. In this paper I plan to discuss the current issue, trends, and remedies in accordance with evidence-based practices found in peer-reviewed scholarly sources.
